Tessellated Tiles Melbourne

To tessellate is to create a tiled design on a flat surface using a repeated geometric pattern without overlapping or leaving empty spaces. Tessellated tiles go back to the 12th Century, to the monasteries of England and France. Yet today throughout the world, they are all around us, in many incarnations. By far the most common material in terms of Victorian and Edwardian floors is ceramic. Tessellated tile floors are formed from tiles of varying size, shape and colour that fit together to produce a strongly geometric pattern that is quite repetitive. Patterns within any style may be placed together or separately to enhance an area of a plain floor fitting perfectly into both traditional and modern designs.
